How does TikTok to piano notes conversion work?
Our server briefly downloads the audio from the link, then a piano-specific transcription model turns it into musical notes. The audio isn't stored after your session.
How accurate is TikTok import?
Automatic audio-to-MIDI transcription isn't perfect, especially on full song mixes with vocals, bass, and drums layered together. Notes may be missed, extra, or timed slightly off compared to a real MIDI file. That matters more in Learn Song than in playback, because the lesson waits for whatever note it thinks comes next — if a phantom note appears, skip it and carry on.
What’s the most accurate way to practice a song in Papiano’s Learn Song mode?
Uploading a real MIDI (.mid/.midi) or MusicXML (.musicxml/.xml) file. Those carry exact note data, so Learn Song knows precisely which key it is waiting for at every step — transcribed audio can leave a phantom note that the lesson stalls on until you skip it.
Which platforms and file formats does Learn Song support?
Paste Link supports TikTok video URLs (YouTube is not supported). Upload accepts .mp4, .webm, .mov, .mp3, .wav, and .m4a files (transcribed to notes), or .mid, .midi, .musicxml, and .xml files directly (always free, no transcription needed).
Is my uploaded file or link stored on Papiano’s servers?
No. Audio is fetched server-side just long enough to hand it to your browser, and transcription runs client-side — nothing is saved or shared after the page processes it.

MIDI Hub is Papiano's community feed of shared MIDI files. Searching it from Learn Song loads a song's original MIDI straight into the lesson — no transcription involved, so it's always free, and the note data is exact enough to practise against hand by hand.
