Turn a recording into playable notes
Upload an audio or video file, or paste a link — a TikTok video, for example. You get back a MIDI file and sheet music, ready to open in the Piano Visualizer or the Sheet Player.
Audio or video. The clearer the recording, the closer the notes land.
TikTok, or any public page with audio.
The audio is pulled from the link on the server. Only public links work, and only the audio track is used.
What kind of recording works best?
A clear solo piano recording. The fewer instruments playing at once, and the less background noise, the closer the notes land. A dense mix with drums and vocals will still produce a file, but expect to tidy it up afterwards.
What happens to my file?
It is sent to the transcription service to be processed and is not published anywhere on Papiano. The finished result is listed under History on this device only — clearing it removes it from this browser.
Can I edit the result?
Yes. Download the .mid and open it in any DAW or notation editor, or send it straight into the Piano Visualizer to play along, Learn Song to practise it, or QWERTY Sheet to turn it into a text sheet.
Why did a link fail?
The link has to be public, and the page has to actually contain audio. Private, deleted, and region-blocked videos cannot be fetched, and neither can anything behind a login.
