Community Guidelines

Papiano is for playing, learning, sharing, and talking about music. These 10 rules apply to chat, multiplayer rooms, profiles, and anything you post to MIDI Hub, and keep the space usable for every player.
1

Respect other players

No harassment, threats, hate speech, personal attacks, bullying, or targeting people for who they are.
2

Keep chat usable

No spam, flooding, scams, misleading links, repeated advertising, or message patterns that make chat unreadable.
3

Do not disrupt rooms

Do not intentionally spam notes, overload a room, sabotage a session, or ruin a performance for other players.
4

Respect room control

Room hosts and moderators can manage room behavior. Follow reasonable room instructions and keep private spaces private.
5

No impersonation

Do not pretend to be another player, moderator, contributor, developer, brand, or official account.
6

Protect privacy

Do not share passwords, tokens, private keys, payment details, addresses, private messages, or sensitive personal data.
7

Keep content appropriate

No explicit, graphic, illegal, hateful, or harmful content in names, bios, avatars, chat, shared links, or images.
8

Do not attack the service

No exploiting bugs, overload attempts, bypassing account restrictions, abusing room systems, or intentionally breaking app features.
9

Use reports properly

Report real abuse clearly. Do not use reports to harass, threaten, mass-target, or pressure other users.
10

Play fair

Papiano exists so people can play and communicate around music. Keep the experience musical, fair, and usable.

Enforcement

Moderators can mute, restrict accounts, remove content, clear unsafe material, or disable rooms when needed to protect Papiano and its players. Action is proportionate to severity: a first minor issue typically gets a warning or short mute, while repeated or serious violations lead to longer restrictions.

Severe abuse — including harassment campaigns, illegal content, or attacks on the service — can result in permanent removal from online features without a prior warning.

Appeals

If you believe a moderation action was a mistake, email support@papiano.app with your account ID and the room, message, or report involved. Appeals are reviewed manually by a person, not resolved automatically, and we will follow up with the outcome.

Why these rules exist

Multiplayer piano is sensitive to spam, room disruption, impersonation, and chat abuse in a way single-player apps are not — one disruptive player can ruin a room for everyone else in it. These rules keep Papiano playable, protect players, and make moderation decisions predictable instead of arbitrary.

Good behavior examples

  • Give feedback on someone's playing without attacking them personally.
  • Ask before taking over a room or changing the room's mood or genre.
  • Keep shared links relevant to the room and safe to click.
  • Use private rooms responsibly and respect who was invited.
  • Report abuse with clear details instead of arguing about it in public chat.
